So many homeowners want to change the look of their kitchen without spending a lot of money. If you want to change the way your kitchen looks, you may look at the big picture, such as changing the cabinets, getting new appliances and getting new flooring. These are all ways that you can make your kitchen look more beautiful. However, there are other ways that you can create a comely kitchen that will welcome and invite your guests and your family members. Decorating your kitchen is much easier and easier on your wallet as well over extensive renovations. Here are some great ideas for finding a great kitchen design and decorating your kitchen to find an inexpensive way.

Using What you Have and Love:

Many professional decorators will tell you that in order to get a great kitchen, you should use things that you already own and the things that you love. If you take a quick look around your home, what do you surround yourself with? Do you love antiques and do you collect old china? Or perhaps you love bright colored Fiestaware. If you already own your grandmother’s China or a set of colorful Fiestaware, then it is time to take these out of the boxes and use them to decorate your kitchen. When you use items you already have and use the things that you love in your decorating, you will enjoy your kitchen much more.

Personalize the Space: Another way that you can decorate your kitchen to get the look that you want is to personalize your space. You can often have a great look in your home when you take photographs of your family and place them in nice frames. The kitchen is a perfect place to do this because you have plenty of counter space. Perhaps you need new dishes. What about visiting one of the local ceramic and pottery stores that will allow you to design your own dishes? This is also a great way that you can personalize your space to make it fit your unique needs and style.

Paint Covers it All: You can use paint to your advantage when you decorate your kitchen. Learn how to apply textures and special effects with the paint and pick colors that will make your guests feel welcome. After all, paint is very cheap and you can cover over it when you need another change. It is a quick fix for any home dcor.

getting a handle on bankruptcy law

Friday 29 February 2008 @ 10:54 pm
by Jay Anderson

In the USA today there have been some dramatic changes made in relation to the Bankruptcy Law. It is important therefore that all should know what these changes are just in case one finds themselves in a situation where they are required to file for bankruptcy.

But first let us take a look at the kinds of bankruptcy that one is able to file for, then later on, we will take a look at the changes that have been made to the bankruptcy law.

Chapter 7 - This is the most common type of bankruptcy that a person is going to file for and for which a trustee is appointed. It is this person’s job to oversee the person who has filed for bankruptcy and find the property and assets which may well be sold off by the trustee to help pay the person’s creditors. In most cases after filing Chapter 7, a person will find that most of the debts (although not all) which they have incurred, will be cancelled.

Chapter 11 - This form of bankruptcy filing is used mainly by businesses, but is available to individuals as well. But the cost and complexity of this form of bankruptcy filing is very undesirable to a great many people. What you will find is that the people filing for Chapter 11 are those whose debts are far in excess of Chapter 13 limits. But this form of bankruptcy does allow a business to continue to operate whilst helping to shelter it from some of the debts it owes.

Chapter 13 - Through a Chapter 13 a person will come up with a proposed repayment plan to pay back all their creditors. The court will then appoint a trustee just as they do with a Chapter 7 and it is this person who will collect the payments from the person who has filed a Chapter 13 and then pay these to the creditors. The main role of the trustee appointed to a Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing is to ensure that the person complies with the repayment plan that has been put in place at all times. Note that in this case, your debts are not wiped out.

Above we have taken a look at the types of bankruptcy that one is able to file for in the USA today. Now let us take a look at the changes that have been made to the law governing bankruptcy. One of the most dramatic changes that has taken place relates to Chapter 7. The change in the law now prohibits anyone who has a high income from actually employing Chapter 7.

So what this actually means is that in the future if you find that your income is higher than the median for your state after a means test is carried out, you will probably not be able to file Chapter 7. You will need to file for a Chapter 13 rather than a Chapter 7.

Also with the new bankruptcy law, all those who owe money will need to get credit counseling before they can actually file a bankruptcy case. Plus you will also need to undergo additional counseling with regards to budgeting and how to best manage your debts before they can actually be wiped out or assets liquidated.

essential guidelines for your low calorie diet plan

It’s not good enough to simply say “Tomorrow I’m going on a diet.” To be truly effective at weight loss, you have to have a plan, and you have to set goals. As you’re deciding what your plan and goals are going to be, keep the following suggestions in mind:

Go small and many with your meals rather than large and few. By this we mean that you should plan on eating four to six small meals rather than the typical three large meals a day.

Impulse eating is the enemy of the serious dieter. Plan your meals the night before, so that you know exactly what will be part of each meal and what you will snack on throughout the day. Have plenty of healthy snacks at hand to reach for between meals.

Keep the meals well balanced. This means you should have fruits, vegetables, whole grain cereals, low-fat dairy foods, and lean meats and fish all part of your daily food intake.

How you cook your food is almost as important as the foods themselves. Resist the urge to fry foods, especially in animal oils. Instead, use cooking methods such as grilling or steaming.

Although you probably love burgers and pizza and pie, remember that these are usually high in fat and should be eaten sparingly.

Alas, sugar too is not generally the friend of the person on a diet. If you must satisfy that sweet tooth, eat fruit or replace sugar with natural sweeteners such as honey.

Health experts suggest you eat five servings of fruits or vegetables per day. A person serious about losing weight should consider this a starting point, and work to increase that amount over time. One way of doing so is with a delicious fruit smoothie or homemade vegetable soup.

A good saying to remember when you’re switching to a low-calorie diet is: “Brown for White”. Instead of eating white rice or white bread, switch them for brown rice and brown whole grain bread. These are generally better for you because they have less carbohydrates.

Remember, though, that losing weight is not all about what you eat. Along with changing how you eat, you must also make exercise a regular part of your new lifestyle. Get outside for some walking or running. Or if you must stay in the house, rather than watching TV, how about doing some chores that get you up and moving? This is a good way to get things accomplished and burn calories at the same time.

Remember though to check with your diet before you start your journey to weight loss. But once he’s on board, these few alterations in how you eat and exercise will help you on a lifelong quest to improving your health.
